About
I’m currently a graduate student with the Center for Wave Phenomena at the Colorado School of Mines. I’m studying geophysics, but focusing heavily on the computer science aspect, as I’m currently interested in image processing, data visualization and inversion.
My personal machine is a 15″ Unibody MacBook Pro, and I love it because it allows me to do a lot of number crunching and programming, while also manage my photos and music and performing quickly and efficiently. A lot of my time is spent on my computer writing programs and scripts, so I thought that I’d start this blog to jot down help, tutorials, tricks and even pose my own questions on the subject.
On a more personal note: while I am a lowly grad student, I’m not simply confined to my desk. For instance, I take a lot of pictures! You can check out my Flickr (below) to see some of the shots I’ve been taking. I also listen to a ton of music, and try to collect as much of it as I can. I also enjoy traveling (when I can). While I haven’t been to many places, I hope my life after school, or even possibly what time is left, will change that.
I’m currently engaged to a beautiful girl, and we’re set to marry on July 16, 2010! She also happens to go to this school, but she’s studying biochemical and chemical engineering. I know, makes me stressed thinking about it too.

My name is Chris Engelsma too. Funny.
